Did you know- its not just people that need hugs?
Thats right, we've mentioned it in a few of our blogs about how to properly care for you beeswax pillar candles, but incase you missed it we're here to tell you once again- yes, your candles need hugs too!
Beeswax is a beautiful, natural resource and the better you understand what your candle is doing the better you will care for them and the longer you can enjoy everything they have to offer.
The cotton wick of your candle is soaking up the wax and feeding it to the flame as fuel. The more wax, the more fuel, the longer the candle burns. As your pillar candle burns down, an outer shell will begin to develop (another perk of beeswax candles is that they self contain or completely burn away, aside from votives).
But why waste this outer shell? After all, its perfectly good fuel for your candle's flame. instead of being left with scraps of wax at the end, we like to care for our pillar by giving them a little hug.
Hugging your pillar means gently pressing around the outer edge of the candle while the wax is warm so that it curves slightly over and drips back into the into the melt pool as your candle burns.
